Musing Studio is a small, independent product studio making web publishing software.
It was founded by Matt Baer in 2015. Today, he still owns and runs the show — writing our software, hawking it, helping people use it, and collaborating with customers to figure out what to build next.
We carry a spirit of independence through everything we do, from our financial sources and business model to our discerning views on today's tech landscape.
We believe in the power of the Web as a creative medium and social network in and of itself. While today often forgotten, this alternative future is what we pursue every day.
Through the tools we build, we aim to make the open web accessible to everyone, keeping individuals and organizations free from platforms that don't have their best interests in mind.
Through our advocacy, we aim to support entire ecosystems of human-centric tools, networks, and services. We see a future where more digital services collaborate on shared protocols, instead of competing to own the biggest walled garden. Which is why, through our business, we provide a model and funding for more sustainable, interoperable companies to flourish on the open web.
We know that human rights, such as the right to privacy, are critical for free expression and free association. So we continually advocate for these ideals and the institutions that uphold them — both in our words and actions.
