Last updated March 2, 2022
Status: Launched 2018, Beta
Availability: Self-hosted
Summary:
WriteFreely is successfully powering hundreds of sites outside of our flagship instance, Write.as. Next, we plan to release a stable v1.0, which will be up-to-date with single-author features on Write.as.
Up Next (Q2 2022)...
We've released these products, but development is largely on hold while our focus is elsewhere. We expect for that to change in the future, and to resume development then.

Status: Launched 2016, Stable
Availability: Included with Write.as Pro
Summary:
Snap.as is faithfully serving as a simple photo hosting backend for Write.as. While we've long promised a "standalone" Snap.as product, the path toward that is less clear, so the product is largely in a holding pattern while we wait for an answer to reveal itself.

Status: Launched 2019, Stable
Availability: Standalone product or add-on
Summary:
Submit.as is helping many Team customers accept submissions from publication contributors and the wider public. We're collaborating with literary journals to see if it can be useful to them. But as a product, it's stable, and will be improved through add-ons like Draft.as and Remark.as, instead of more features.

Status: Launched 2020, MVP
Availability: Submit.as add-on
Summary:
Draft.as currently provides some minimal revision tracking functionality to support submission editing via Submit.as. There is relatively little demand for this at the moment, so further development is on hold.
Up Next (no timeline)...
These products have been discussed with our community, but are currently on the shelf while our focus is elsewhere. We may revisit them later, or do something else entirely.

Status: MVP released 2018, stalled
Availability: Self-hosted
Summary:
Read.as is a dedicated reading app for open web protocols like ActivityPub, meant to complement Write.as. Originally, we built this as an open source app dedicated to consuming content, and intended to add social features on top of it. But we released WriteFreely three months after starting development on this, and put our focus there, instead.
Possibilities:
This could become a useful component of WriteFreely, or continue developing into a full-blown app. Either path will depend on demand we see for something like this.

Status: Idea
Availability: None
Summary:
We originally had the idea to provide private note-taking to complement our public blogging platform. We still see this as a natural fit in our suite, but think our energy is best placed elsewhere for now.
Possibilities:
Instead of developing our own app, we might simply integrate with another to achieve the same thing faster. We've already had discussions with another note-taking app about a potential integration between their long-tested app and our product suite.
